Partners, I have a 12+ month contract in Miami, Florida. My client is a large Company and is looking for Program Manager with Unisys. E Experience leading large mainframe re-platform (a.k.a., migration) initiatives; specifically migrating UNISYS COBOL, ALGOL, etc. to a Microsoft Windows / SQL Server environment; Please read Specifics listed below. Title: Program Manager Duration: 12 Months++ Location: Miami Start date ASAP Project Description: Brief project description: Re-platform Apps.from Unisys/Cobol --> Microsoft Windows/SQL Server Database. They are not redesigning the code - Vendor is going to run code (Unisys/Cobol) through a converter, which allows code to work in a Microsoft Environment. Program Manager will interface with the Vendor (who will be submitting the code) as well as the Organizations IT Dept. and Customers to test Apps. Experience leading large mainframe re-platform (a.k.a., migration) initiatives; specifically migrating UNISYS COBOL, ALGOL, etc. to a Microsoft Windows / SQL Server environment; A PMI-certified PMP with at least 10+ years of program management experience leading multiple sub-projects spanning all areas of the IT department and involving numerous customer business units Program Manager will work with selected vendor to coordinate code and data re-platform activities Coordinate with multiple sections within IT and various agencies to test and validate vendor converted code and data, interfaces, and reports; coordinate the development and execution of written test plans to make re-platform system "production ready" Prior experience working in government environment with exposure to mainframe-based systems Will also coordinate activities with the Technical Services team (infrastructure) to deliver necessary servers, database, etc. Responsible for the production of all necessary project artifacts such as: project scope document, project schedule, communications plan, risk assessments, issues log, etc., as well as the production of customer and technical support documentation needed for training and on-going usage of the re-platform system Extensive experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office Solicit and coordinate internal Subject Matter Experts (SME's) as needed both within IT and throughout the business units Coordinate efforts to identify and deliver on the company's data retention requirements, both for current operational data and historical information on tapes, etc. Coordinate the development and execution of a company-wide communications campaign informing the mainframe users of the coming re-platform activities and the impacts on their agencies and users Coordinate with Help Desk as needed on such items as communications, support preparation, post-implementation support, etc Mainframe Re-platform Program Manager will be expected to be on-site throughout the initiative timeframe.
