We are seeking a senior SOA Architect with 7-10 years of experience in
software development/implementation and designing service-oriented solutions
and architectures in Java, J2EE, Web Services and Middleware technologies.
Location: Austin, TX
*Contract to hire: (3-6 months)***
*Responsibilities: *
- Lead and mentor small to medium size teams of architects and developers
- Make and recommend infrastructure decisions using knowledge of open
standards related to SOA such as Web Services, XML, BPEL, SOAP, UDDI, J2EE,
and Java along with knowledge of COTS software products related to an SOA
ESB-based solution
- Identify and document SOA architecture/design best practices for
integration across cross-functional complex systems
- Support and maintain the on-going vision and strategy on SOA
architecture.
- Evaluate service implementation platforms and document the guidance for
service implementation platform selection
- Present and communicate findings to required stakeholders (executives
and senior management)

- 7-10 years of experience in software design, development,
implementation, and deployment.
- Strong technical architecture expertise and exposure to Enterprise
Application Integration (EAI), Web Services, BPM and workflow solutions
- Proficiency in SOA Business process modeling tools
- Concept and working knowledge of the following technologies
- Client
- WebSphere Portal
- Adobe Flex
- JSP/Struts/Ajax
- Server
- WebSphere Application Server (J2EE)
- Hibernate (Persistence)
- JTA (Transactions)
- Middleware
- WebSphere Process Server (BPEL and Workflow)
- WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
- WebSphere DataPower (XML Appliance)
- WebSphere MQ (Batch Integration)
- Infravia Registry (Services Registry)
- Tivoli Identity and Access Management (TIM/TAM)
- IBM Content Manager (Content Management)
- Strong leadership, teamwork, communications and inter-personal skills
- Must have firsthand experience with software development lifecycle,
object-oriented analysis and design, high competency in Java/Web application
design and development
- Experience in documenting logical and physical requirements for SOA
solutions
- MS in Computer Science/Software Engineering or related degree

- ITIL / Server Consolidation
- SOA Governance
- Information Integration and Federation
*Preferred*
- Health and Human Services domain experience
- Experience working in state government agencies
