We are seeking a senior Enterprise Hardware Architect with 6-10 years of
experience in designing, managing and troubleshooting major data center
architectures.
Location: Austin, TX
*Contract to hire: (3-6 months)***
*Responsibilities: *
- Analyze multi-tier web application architecture and develop logical and
physical deployment architecture blueprint factoring in reliability,
scalability, security and performance requirements
- Create application transaction profiles and usage patterns for
deployment architecture analysis from a capacity and response time
perspective
- Benchmark different hardware platforms (SUN, LINUX, Windows) from a
performance and throughput perspective for a set of business application
transaction types with certain response times
- Analyze the evolution of hardware platform based on Moore's law and
benchmark capacity and performance
- Analyze and design hardware virtualization solutions/options to support
transaction volume and response time requirements while meeting operational
flexibility requirements
- Analyze current deployed hardware architecture configuration and
develop an end state hardware architecture blueprint while developing a
roadmap for staged maturity
- Develop and execute performance fine tuning methods/solutions to
optimize hardware architecture utilization while meeting business
transaction volume and response time requirements
- Present and communicate findings to required stakeholders (executives
and senior management)

*Required*
- 5-10 years of experience in:
- Designing and managing enterprise class hardware architectures
- Working with major hardware platforms including SUN SPARC, SOLARIS,
LINUX, AIX etc.
- Troubleshooting hardware architectures from a performance,
scalability, reliability and security perspectives for multi-tier web
applications
- Configuring data center architectures and operations support for
enterprise class business applications
- Benchmarking hardware platforms and configuring optimally utilized
architectures
- Strong leadership, teamwork, communications and inter-personal skills
- Detail-oriented to understand low level data used to aggregate into
high-level performance views
- Experience in documenting logical and physical requirements for IT
systems/solutions
- MS in Computer Engineering or related degree

- Health and Human Services domain experience
- Experience working in state government agencies
