ECDA 2018

European Conference on DataAnalysis

Paderborn, Germany, July 4-6, 2018

The next EuropeanConference on Data Analysis (ECDA) will take place in
Paderborn, Germany,4th-6th July, 2018. ECDA 2018 includes the 42nd Annual
Meeting of the GFKl DataScience Society and the Symposium on Data Science
Education of the EuropeanAssociation for Data Science (EuADS). It will be
located in the Heinz NixdorfMuseumsForum (www.hnf.de), the world's largest
computer museum.

ECDAsolicits contributions to theoretical as well as application-oriented
researchon topics in the realm of data science, with a specific focus on
dataanalytics. With its motto "Multidisciplinary Facets of DataScience", ECDA
2018 specifically emphasizes the important interplay ofdisciplines involved in
data science, most notably statistics and computerscience. Topics of interest
include, but are not limited to thefollowing:

§  Theory and Methods: Big Data; Clustering, Classification,Discrimination and
Regression; Data Science; Databases and Data Management;Data Mining, Text and
Web Mining;  DataVisualization;  Dimension Reduction;  Image Analysis and
Computer Vision; Impact ofTechnical Revolution and Library Science; Knowledge
Representation andDiscovery; Machine Learning; Mathematical Foundations of Data
Science;Multivariate Methods; Online Algorithms and Algorithms for Data
Streams; SocialNetwork Analysis; Statistical and Econometric Methods; Symbolic
Data Analysis.

§  Applications: Archaeology; Biostatistics; Business andManagement; Economics;
Education; Engineering; Finance; Geosciences; IndustrialAutomation;
Linguistics; Marketing; Medicine and Health Care; Musicology;Psychology; Risk
