REQUIREMENTS: SQL SERVER 2005/2008, T-SQL, SSRS,SSIS, XML, SBE, STRONG VERBAL /WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, independently performs a variety of complicated tasks, a wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. 12 or more years of experience in the field. Purpose of Position: Plan, design and manage SBE database management systems to ensure completeness, integrity, security and efficiency of the SBE systems. Implements policies, standards and procedures relating to database structures, performance, security and auditing. Possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to manage processes, databases and other applications written by a third-party. Works closely with our vendors, developers and business analysts for successful election management. Competencies Required: Ability to interpret data models and to develop database structures. Ability to use standard diagramming techniques to design and develop computer data models. Ability to implement and troubleshoot programming changes and modifications. Ability to program, configure, manage and maintain the operation of complex relational databases. Ability to create and modify reports. Ability to develop and manipulate large, complex data sets. Ability to manage backup processes and automated data extract transform and load functions. Knowledge of data integrity methods and techniques. Knowledge of XML and the generation and consuming of XML data by programmatic means. Ability to perform acceptance testing on computer systems, applications and hardware. Ability to install, modify and upgrade database software. Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems. Ability to provide information analysis proactively and interactively with business staff. Possess good organizational and communication skills. Be a team player. Have business awareness and be willing to learn about new developments. Significant experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Expertise in SQL Server 2005/2008 database administration, tuning, backup, performance monitoring, index management and file management. Expertise in the Transact SQL language.
