Expert level experience installing, managing and troubleshooting SQL Server 2000, 2005, and 2008 including log shipping and replication environments. Experience with Microsoft Windows Server clustering, backup procedures, recovery and disaster recovery planning and implementation. Candidates must understand web hosting operational concepts of TCP/IP, networking, enterprise storage systems, backups, internet security, load balancing, directory services, application and infrastructure monitoring, server virtualization, automation, disaster recovery, high availability, scalability and web site management. B.S. degree is desired, preferably in a technical discipline. Microsoft Certified IT Professional or MCDBA certifications a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills. A strong background in replication and performance tuning Build and support SQL Server systems and databases. Provide database change management services in support of customer initiatives. Administer SQL Server database servers on a day-to-day basis. Actively participate in, and in most cases lead troubleshooting, configuration and administrative efforts. Configure, manage and troubleshoot SQL Server log shipping, transactional and merge replication. Troubleshoot database performance problems. Profile databases and analyze traces to isolate problems. Resolve issues to restore service and maintain optimal performance. Manage SQL Server support ticket queues and application requests. Setup of maintenance plans, scheduled jobs, etc. for SQL Server instances.
