Position: Sr. MySQL/Mongo/Greenplum DBA
Location: CA
Duration: Long Term
Note: Need L3 consultants
*Local profiles are more preferable*
Job Description:
- *Install, configure, update and maintain MySQL, Mongo & Greenplum
databases in a high volume environment*
- Administration includes: upgrades, patching, security,
troubleshooting, backups, performance tuning, query optimization,
replication, clustering, capacity planning, load balancing, scalability and
high availability
- Monitor production environment to assure data is protected and
recoverable as required
- Design, create, implement and support both existing and new database
environments including HA and replication setups.
- Create, maintain and update maintenance scripts for automation using
Shell/Perl/Python/Ruby etc
- Identify and recommend tools and services for managing database
infrastructure
- Refine mechanisms for monitoring database capacity and usage, database
backup and restoration, forecast for future use
- Help develop application-specific fault-tolerant database mechanisms
*Desired Candidate Profile :*
- Significant 6+ yrs of experience managing complex production database
systems in a high volume production environment
- Solid knowledge in schema design principles with demonstrated aptitude
for building scalable designs
- Expertise with configuration management systems such as Puppet or Chef
- Proficiency in scripting and custom automation
- Strong Linux/Unix administration skills in datacenter environment on
SAAS (3 tier arch) platform is a plus.
