*Systems Administrator*

Operational support - must be *strong* in *Active Directory* - will be
asked to do routine maintenance and operational support.



-Strong Windows Server/ AD skills - operational support.

-Must be highly skilled in AD - no design required, so must be happy
providing highly detailed operational support.

-Must be flexible and nimble - org is still changing from prior
restructure, so must be comfy in a rapidly shifting environment.



-Performs routine audits of systems and software and performs backups.

-Applies operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.

-Installs and configures new hardware and software.

-Responsible for adding, removing, or updating user account information,
and resetting passwords, security and documenting the configuration of the
system.

-Will troubleshoot any reported problems and be responsible for system
performance tuning.

-Requires 4-6 years of experience.



*Position Comments:*



Individual is to fulfill responsibilities of an Infrastructure Operator in
the Collaboration and Directory Services team with primary focus on
Directory & File Services.

General primary responsibilities/essential functions:
• Troubleshoots client/server operating system, hardware and infrastructure
software components
--Responds to events and/or incidents and restores service as soon as
possible and/or escalates issues as appropriate
-- Assists with problem case resolution
--Monitors ticket queues and responds to operations requirements for
hardware and systems software issues as part of incident and problem
management.
--Supports execution of software release and deployment as scheduled.
• Coordinate with outside vendors
--Respond to issues or questions from external partners and escalate as
necessary
• Performs data recovery activities to ensure data protection and integrity
--Performs backup and recovery activities to ensure data integrity.
Monitors backup cycle confirmation to ensure successful completion
--Ensures data integrity testing is completed within agreed timeframes
--Ensures exceptions and/or issues with backup or restore requests are
ultimately executed within established service levels
• Provides domain support services for infrastructure platforms (e.g.
network, server, voice, database, etc.), operating systems and supporting
infrastructure software components to ensure operational stability and
availability.
--Supports infrastructure hardware and software provisioning as required by
following established procedures
--Monitors the ongoing health and integrity of supported systems using
existing tools, reports, monitoring systems, and email notifications to
ensure established service levels
--Engages in troubleshooting activities to resolve provisioning related
issues
--Participates on escalation calls to troubleshoot and hand-off complex
incidents
--Follows existing operating procedures and standards, identifies needed
updates, and submits knowledge-based articles for updates
• Monitors capacity and performance of infrastructure platforms to ensure
compliance against defined thresholds.
• Executes service requests in support of infrastructure platforms and
software
• Executes all activities in compliance with established Service Management
standards (e.g. incident change, problem, etc.)
• The responsibilities of this position may require on-call time or work
outside normal business hours. Also, may be assigned additional
responsibilities !



*Additional Skills:*

Must Have Requirements:

• 3 to 5+ years Directory Services experience (Active Directory, AD
LDS/LDAP)

• Microsoft Windows knowledge (client, server)

• Experience with systems management, monitoring and alerting tools

• Broad working knowledge of infrastructure operations (server, network,
database)

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills

• Strong technical documentation skills

• Strong Service Management background (ITIL Foundations v3 certification a
plus), experience with CG Service Management processes

• Experience with Managed Service providers

• Technical experience in one or more of the following areas a plus:

o File Services (MS DFS)

Messaging (MS Exchange, SMTP routing, gateways, GOOD)

o Collaboration (MS SharePoint, MS Lync)
