for someone to just move the data. They are in the process of standing up
a data governance apparatus and need someone that can build out the biz
glossary, the definitions of out org information, document and improve info
flow…people who are strong linguists who can define info.*

*Enterprise Information Architect*
- Assemble information requirements, analyze and model data concepts
across the enterprise, harmonizing business definitions and semantics, and
specifying data designs expressed as business semantic models, data models,
lifecycle models, taxonomies.
- Lead cross-enterprise strategic information architecture work, act as
a solution or domain architect for information management solutions, and be
an advocate for information architecture across the organization.
- Lead solution or domain architecture engagements for OLTP applications
and data warehousing/business intelligence projects by leveraging skills
and experience across application, business, information, integration,
security and infrastructure architectures.
*Job Description:** Information Architect*
- Create a data strategy working with Solution Architects, Information
architects, and BSAs.
- Identify and document shared data requirements, opportunities/gaps in
current state, data sources, and flows, necessary to prescribe future state.
- Unify collections of data requirements for key data concepts in
business units, harmonizing business definitions and semantics, and
specifying data designs expressed as business semantic models, data models,
lifecycle models, taxonomies, etc.
- Build out an enterprise view of data across business systems and
highlight opportunities for progressive improvement.
- Architect information management solutions (such as MDM, Data
Warehousing/BI, Data Integration, Migration, etc.) in alignment with the
strategic views, applying best practices.
- Demonstrate ability to pragmatically apply industry knowledge in
influencing information strategy and solution architecture.
- Communicate complex ideas in simple and creative ways.
*Skills Required:*
- 10 – 15 years’ experience in IT architecture and/or solution delivery
- Excellent written and verbal communication and influencing skills
- Skilled in applying strategic architecture direction to project
delivery using standard engagement methods
- Skilled in business domain modeling and logical and physical data
modeling/design
- Skilled in data analysis and facilitation, i.e., able to produce data
designs using a variety of inputs such as requirements analysis, SME
interviews, business process and data flow analysis, data profiling, etc
- Experience with ER/Studio or similar data modeling tools/repositories
- Knowledgeable about commercial DBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server,
Oracle & Sybase including familiarity with SQL and data profiling tools
- Knowledgeable about Business Intelligence tools and their appropriate
use in solutions for diverse business requirements
- Proficiency in productivity applications such as MS Word, PowerPoint,
Excel, Visio, etc.
*Additional Skills:*
- Deep understanding of the Information and Solution Architecture
discipline, processes, concepts and best practices
- Skilled in business domain modeling and logical and physical
relational data modeling/design
- Experience with ER/Studio and AbInitio or similar data modeling
tools/repositories
- Experience working with Portfolio Managers, Research, Results and
Investment Operations, Marketing professionals, a plus
- Familiarity with leading vendors supporting various front office
industry designation and/or experience implementing solutions in the
investment management vertical, , a plus
- Broad technical aptitude and knowledge specifically in data
warehousing, ETL, BI, and integration technologies. Experience in applying
future state data architecture/design concepts such as Data Lake, Big Data,
or discovery analytics, a plus
- In depth understanding of both RDBMS and MPP database technologies
(Microsoft PDW, Netezza, Greenplum, Oracle, etc., a plus
- Curious mind and fast learner
- Engaging personality
- Good project management and delivery skills
- Excellent communicator and structured thinker
- 10 – 15 years’ experience in IT architecture and/or solution delivery
team
- Progress toward or interest in pursuing the CFA or similar financial
industry designation, a plus.
- MBA preferred but not essential
*Additional Skills Desired:*
- Knowledge of the capital markets/asset management industry and/or
marketing, sales and support services in the financial industry
- Experience with business capability and process modeling and mapping
to information
- Experience in supporting data governance
- Experience with metadata management tools
