*Position: JAVA Developer* *Duration: 6+ Months* *Location: NYC, NY* *Need Consultants only Local to New York.* Responsible for software design, development and unit testof business critical applications within a formal Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Must be capable of contributing and collaborating as a member of a high-performing software development team. Ability to deliver high-quality software solutions and meet aggressive milestones on schedule.The company is currently being tasked with the integration of their many major, disparate, internal systems (sales, manufacturing, logistics, etc). The goal is to link these applications to a central Oracle 11g database where real time updates can be made and management can better utilize existing data & organize new data added to the systems. The project will start by linking the company's sales app – BUSS, to the new database. Eventually the database will be connected to their ERP system, their handheld technology app (NGHT), their forecasting app (PROMPT), their Manufacturing System and their transportation app (TTS) as well. If all goes smoothly, others will follow. Client is looking for an experience Java Developer to work closely with the one of the team leads and two other Java developers onsite (lead and one developer are FTEs and one other is a consultant).The Java team will be responsible for developing the "Sales System Portal" or front end to the new database. Internal employees will be able to access "live" & "transactional" data stored in the database via this portal. The goal is to put a ton of visibility around the information contained in all of their internal systems and have it all accessible from one location - the sales system portal. *Skills and Qualifications:* • 5+ years with commercial java web development and implementation • Strong competencies in Java and object oriented design skills, including working knowledge of core java libraries, java design patterns, servlets, JSP • Demonstrated experience with J2EE and Web Frameworks working with a J2EE application server. • Proficient in web markup technologies, including HTML5, CSS3 • Proficient in client-side scripting using java script and JavaScript frameworks, including JQuery. Understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates and AJAX. Ability to resolve cross-browser compatibility issues • Understanding of Database concepts and structured query language (SQL). • Strong understanding of JDBC with interaction to DB stored procedures. • Knowledge of advance Java script libraries and frameworks, such as Angular JS, Knockout JS etc. • Experience with web servers, such as Websphere Application Server, Weblogic Application Server • Experience with version control system, such as Rational Team Client (RTC) IBM.
