The Senior DBA will perform administration and engineering for multiple
production databases supporting the mission-critical activities of the IMF.
The Sr. DBA will be responsible for fast-paced, complex distributed
database environments supporting both OLTP and OLAP systems across multiple
platforms in a shared, SAN-based environment. The Sr. DBA will be leading
the migration of the Fund’s architecture to Exadata.
A strong candidate will be able to rapidly troubleshoot complex technical
problems under pressure, implement scalable solutions, all while managing
multiple requirements. Deep knowledge of Oracle Database concepts and
strong performance tuning skills is a must. Experience and knowledge of
Exadata platform is highly desired.

Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years Database Administration experience with administering
and supporting multiple Oracle databases for performance critical, highly
available systems on UNIX/Linux platform
• Experience administering and working on Exadata platform.
• Experience in Oracle 11g/12c Architecture, Configuration, and
Administration
• Experience with backup/restore functionality
• Experience managing servers in large-scale, geographically diverse
environments
• Excellent SQL and DB performance tuning skills
• Strong experience using OEM
• Experience installing and managing RAC clusters with ASM
• Experience supporting applications such as Peoplesoft and other large
COTS.
• Oracle Certified Professional certification is desired
• Experience with Exadata is desired but not required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience as a database machine administrator on Exadata platform.
• Experience in planning, building, implementing, administering, and
maintaining ORACLE databases to support mission-critical Financial Systems.
Build and successfully integrates complex, OLTP and Data Warehousing ORACLE
databases with minimal or no supervision.  Demonstrated ability to ensure
optimal database performance through exhaustive pre-service testing and
ongoing real-time monitoring.  Troubleshoot issues to resolution.
• Experience in creating automation tools for managing relational databases
(backup/restore, discovery, schema deployment). Strong experience with OEM
12c Grid control.
• Ability to maintain database security and enterprise policy guidelines
according to best practices and IMF guidelines.  Ability to recommend new
and improved guidelines to ensure high availability and stability
• Strong experience in Performance Tuning, and OEM 12c. Strong experience
in Backup and Recovery,
• Strong knowledge of Oracle RMAN, Oracle Data Guard (physical/logical is a
plus) and Grid Control.  At least 3 years of Oracle DBA experience in an
enterprise environment supporting all aspects of an Oracle Database Server
with emphasis on 2-tiered and 3-tiered, redundant and highly available
architectures
• A minimum of 1 year of ORACLE 10g/11g/12c SQL development including
package/ procedure/ trigger/ XML development in a multi-user production
environment
• Strong experience with RAC and ASM, building and supporting RAC clusters
using ASM storage.
• Strong experience in monitoring and tuning Oracle databases for optimum
performance; assist in capacity planning of Oracle database servers
• Experience supporting databases used by large COTS. Peoplesoft is
preferred, large ERPs and other COTS is a must.
• Experience in maintaining databases residing on SANs. Experience with
replication technologies, either SAN-based or Oracle-based (Streams, Golden
Gate)
• Experience working on clustered solutions, including RAC/ASM or other
similar tools.
• Excellent UNIX skills and a grasp of fundamental computing concepts such
as system calls, memory management and program debugging. Working knowledge
of Linux system administration, configuration of storage arrays networks,
disk configuration including multipath. A minimum of 3 years experience
with the UNIX shell scripting techniques – Korn Shell, AWK, SED, and Perl
scripting preferably
• Ability to function independently and plan, evaluate and design solutions
to problems as they occur. Ability to work well in a group environment.
Ability to mentor other DBAs in the group.
• Experience implementing and supporting security and audit, including
demonstrated experience with Oracle Advanced Security.
• Provide tasks and timelines to support the creation of project plans with
appropriate updates for those tasks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform On-Call duties as assigned
Environment
• Must have the ability to function in a tight knit team environment
• Must be willing to challenge yourself with regard to learning new
applications as well as new Oracle components that support new platforms on
fairly short timelines
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work independently with accuracy and attention to detail
