Description



We are looking for a motivated person with a strong background in platform
and system integration for IBM MQ Series in a world class Linux
environment.

Work includes designing at a global scale, installing the product,
integration with Enterprise monitoring systems, implementing a Security
Exit for Kerberos and writing tooling around MQ as well as maintaining the
MQ perl library in the open source CPAN repository. In parallel we are
expanding our Kafka infrastructure as a SAAS offering across the
enterprise. The ideal candidate is an experienced
Messaging/Data-In-Motion/MQ Engineer who has a track record of implementing
core products on a large, corporate scale in a complex security environment
and enjoys working in a competent, strong team.

With our customer base rapidly growing and Data driving more and more
business processes, we are expanding our Enterprise Data Engineering team.
The team is fast paced, dynamic, and results oriented. We handle all
engineering activities across the company for Data in Motion like
Informatica Big Data Edition, IBM MQ messaging, Kafka, Hadoop data in- and
egress as well as all database clients.

We integrate and run these products for a scale, throughput and
availability appropriate to a large multi-national financial services firm
with multiple datacenters across the world. We work closely with a
development team that develops custom tooling to scale out our solutions
across the enterprise.  Within the team’s responsibility are tools written
in Scala, Java, C#, Python and PERL. In addition, we maintain an in-house
data warehouse and a custom web analytics suite. We evaluate emerging
products in Data and Data Analytics space.



Proven experience in Installation, upgradation, migration automation,
performance tuning, configuring security, monitoring of MQ systems and
platform integration in a large enterprise Linux-based environment.

Providing technical assistance to the entire customer staff of developers,
operators and administrators during MQ Migration.

Experience in MQ installation automation and configuration

Experience in WebSphere MQ runtime topologies and architecture, MQ
migrations.

Experience in High Availability, Disaster Recovery, MQ clustering and
failover automation.

Experience in Distributed Operating Systems ( Linux )

Deep technical understanding of the Linux OS, networking, storage (SAN/NAS)
and LDAP.

Excellent understanding of TCP/IP and troubleshooting application issues on
the network (WireShark, etc).

Linux shell scripting, PERL and/or Python.

Ability to write technical and operational documentation (system design and
engineering documents, operational run-books)

Strong communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

MQ Certified System Administration v9.0



Skills Desired not Mandate:



Experience in the features and functionality of IBM MQ

Clustering technologies.

Hadoop Ecosystem

Experience with web technologies, troubleshooting them as it relates to the
OS and the network.

Installation and packaging of applications
