Role: Business Analyst Location: Bridgewater, NJ Duration: Contract Job Specifications: Position Objective: The Business Architect is responsible for leading and performing the Business Architecture function for the Insurance Consulting practice reporting to the Insurance Consulting Lead. The primary responsibilities of the Business Architect include Business Process Analysis and Design, Business Activity Modeling, Business Capability Modeling, Identification and documentation of business needs, the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders in both oral and written form, while serving as a liaison between business and technical teams. Key responsibilities include the following: * Perform problem-definition and scoping. * Support planning and the definition and prioritization of initiatives and project opportunities using a variety of methodologies including Agile, Iterative and Waterfall. * Research current Business Analyst trends and best practices. Promote best practices and the development of skills, competencies and the level of maturity within the Business Analyst Center of Excellence. * Determine the right Business Architecture modeling techniques to use for a given opportunity. * Translate business strategy into Business Architecture blueprints using the business capability modeling technique. * Apply Business Architecture to model and improve Insurer business processes and organizational design. * Apply techniques that provide clear links between business strategies and technology solutions. * Ensure integration of Enterprise level Business Architecture across the Product Areas, IT and Operations. * Facilitate adoption of trends and best practices around Business Architecture. Promote best practices and the development of skills, competencies and the level of maturity within the Insurance Consulting practice. * Facilitate the rigorous identification and documentation of business requirements by leading business resources through a variety of activities including: * Proactively elicit information through interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, business analysis and workflow analysis. * Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish business user requests from the underlying business needs. * Translate business needs into business and functional requirements in a complete, correct and clearly understood format to be shared with both business and technical stakeholders. * Coordinate and perform the prioritization, transition and ongoing management of business requirements. * Coordinate validation of requirements. * Responsible for creating the knowledge management capability that maximizes adoption of Business Architecture artifacts. * Oversight of Business Architecture related artifacts created by Business Analysts and others across the Enterprise. * Ongoing development of industry expertise by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional societies, and applying this knowledge to the job.The Business Architect is responsible for leading and performing the Business Architecture function for the Insurance Consulting practice reporting to the Insurance Consulting Lead.
