• Platform: Provide comprehensive technical expertise and guidance in the
build-out of the Cardinal Health iSeries-based BPCS environment. The
solution will support instances of BPCS at 17 global manufacturing sites
and must be both robust and scalable enough to support near continuous
operations.
• Third-party Tools: Assist and guide set-up and configuration of
third-party applications and tools used in conjunction with BPCS. Examples
include (but aren’t limited to) Mimix, DataThread, WebTop, and GoAnywhere.
Where the resource might not have specific expertise on some of the tools,
the expectation is that the resource would be able to leverage broad
technical skills to obtain sufficient information to support architecture
strategy and installation.
• Licensing: Assist and guide licensing requirements and strategy for the
BPCS system, to include production as well all development and test systems.
• Migrations: Assist in the development of strategy and technical approach
for production migrations of BPCS environment from Medtronic to Cardinal
Health infrastructure. Help plan cutover process and development process
for ensuring and confirming that restored environments are complete and
healthy from a BPCS perspective. Determine impact and help drive plans to
address application and integration connectivity as BPCS instances are
moved from Medtronic to Cardinal.
• High Availability: Provide technical guidance regarding a proposed High
Availability strategy for BPCS. Define and document the detailed process
for HA failover, to include implications for licensing and third-party
tools.
• Communication and Focus: Serve as the key liaison between various
resources working on the project, to include Shared Services, iSeries teams
in Medtronic and Cardinal, and the BPCS application team and Solution Owner.
