*Capability/Responsibility:*
1. Manage Distribution of Public Key Cert
2. Manage Cert Issuance
3. Manage PKI Signing Products and provide a controlled access to the
supplier partners.
4. Participate in various PKI policy development discussion and help
governance body to understand PKI’s existing capabilities to draft an
acceptable policies.
5. Participate in various PKI feature development projects and define the
PKI requirements for development team.
6. Support day-to-day operational activities.
*Important Features:*
● CA Issuance Profile : During the creation of such profile, they are
tightly linked to CA cert(s) created by KM. The profile holds the blueprint
information stating, if the profile is chosen to issue a certificate
against the selected CSR, what all x509 extension will be attached to the
issued Cert.
● CRL Generation : Using manage CA cert feature, the PKI KM can enable the
periodic issuance/refresh of the CRL data for the selected CA Key. KM can
also define custom CDP and chose to embed this CDP endpoint to the leaf
certs which will be issued by CA key in future.
● AIA : Using manage CA cert feature, the PKI KM can define the custom AIA
end point and chose to start embedding it to the all leaf certs.
● Import Certificate : Using this feature, PKI KM can import the externally
issued cert and/or externally managed Private Key and certs.
● PKI Product : Secure way to provide an access of the PKI Private Key to
PKI users. The PKI Product is a logical block which has an association with
the necessary crypto material to perform the signing operation. The PKI
Product can be accessed by PKI Users(to upload the binary data) and by PKI
Supervisor(to approve the signing operation) once PKI KM configures the
product with appropriate Key Material & Users.
