Please find the JD: *Sr. Devops Engineer* *Seattle, WA* *12 Months* *Phone then In-Person* *No OPT’s Please* JD *Senior Systems Engineer Job Description:* The Senior Systems Engineer provide expert engineering services in the cloud, automation, and systems reliability engineering to support the innovation and operation of The Walt Disney Company. This person will partner closely with business and technology leadership in delivering systems, which meet and exceed business objectives. To be successful in this role, the Senior Systems Engineer will protect, operate, and continuously improve the automation and systems that run Disney's experiences, products, & services with a focus on availability, latency, automation, & cross-company collaboration while embracing a DevOps culture. *Job Skills: * • Proficient, collaborative, & experienced in building reliable, scalable, micro-service-oriented systems • Passionate and curious about ways to leverage technology while continually learning • Ability to identify root-cause sources of instability in a high-traffic, large-scale distributed system • Configuration management and orchestration (e.g. Chef, Terraform, Cloud Formation) • One or more languages in your skillset (e.g. GO, Python, Java, Ruby) • Containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos, Elastic Container Service) • Skilled in Cloud/PaaS Environments (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Compute) • Thorough knowledge of continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins) • Linux administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, & security • 5 years of experience in technical operations or systems engineering • Experience writing and troubleshooting Chef cookbooks (chef 13). o An immediate need is to upgrade our chef clients from chef 12 to chef 13 so some cookbook refactoring (or rewriting from scratch) will be needed. • Experience engineering/implementing secrets management in AWS • Experience with automation orchestration. *Here are my notes from the call:* Home grown application support. A few instances where we support 3rd parties. Mostly working direct with Engineers in highly collaborative environment. SRE’s working with engineers for requirements for ops support and experience perspective as those products are built. We also provide production support - dev environment - we have a team that is 24/7 availability - all of our engineers participate in 24/7 rotation. Moving from Sys Engineers traditionally, to an SRE environment. We’re a DevOps environment. *Need:* • Engineers who focus on automation, and support services from an availability, latency standpoint. • Someone with experience building automation for infrastructure. Constantly looking for ways to automate operations. As such, types of folks we’re looking for; • Infrastructure as code. • Building automation patterns • Applying telemetry and instrumentation to provide feedback loop • all for enterprise (internal), so looking for people with some enterprise experience. • May not find the perfect candidate, but I need people who have done this in a professional setting. Flexibility on the “Enterprise”. • Need people with cloud (hopefully AWS, or even Azure). • People with experience running infrastructure as code • Strong sense of collaboration • Someone who can contribute back and be a self-starter • Team environment • Work with an agile process, to identify and accomplish the tasks that need to be accomplish *Non-Negotiable’s/Flexible:* • Individuals with AWS experience - Professional (1-2 years of AWS), ideally in a large scale environment. • Linux experience and supporting java/tomcat applications • Someone looking to learn/open to learning new tech • Not just a cloud engineer - won’t be developing the software.
