(See KSAs on job description) Job Summary The Assistant Front End Developer/Designer reports directly to the Manager, Digital and Traditional Marketing. This position will assist in the development of a major project page for Capital Metro, a content audit and the migration of <http://capmetro.org/> capmetro.org from an Ektron CMS to a Sitefinity CMS. This position requires flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in both technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work on tight deadlines. Primary Responsibilities * Assist the Front End Developer/Designer project lead on the redevelopment of the Project Connect website. Convert static wireframes and mockups into fully functional web pages optimized for desktop and mobile by following coding best practices and Capital Metro standards. Collaborate with other developers and content creators to create an engaging website with a positive user experience. * Assist with the migration to a new Content Management System by auditing existing content on the Capital Metro website. Work with content owners to identify out-of-date content and assets before moving into the new CMS. Evaluate content for good user flow and user experience. * Ensure all graphics and images are optimized for good SEO and fast processing * Assist in optimizing the information architecture of Capital Metro web properties by researching and analyzing user data to make strategic improvements. * Responsible for meeting expectations and deliverables on time and with high quality; * Adhere to Capital Metro's web maintenance schedule by regularly reviewing content for accuracy and performance reliability. * Assist the Front End Developer/Designer in the development of new web content; * Responsible for the design, development, and editing of web pages, graphics, and graphic user interfaces (GUI) as determined by the Front End Developer/Designer and the Managers Digital and Traditional Marketing * Work with visual designers to improve and refine visual design and consistency and improve UX. * Present design work to the marketing department for review and feedback * Translate analytics and customer feedback into design improvements. * Work with marketing and contractors to design test plans and iterate designs throughout user testing. * Develop in a clean, well structured, easily maintainable format. * Perform other duties as required and/or assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience: * High School or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Two (2) years of interactive experience in creating web content using HTML and CSS and creating graphics using software Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. * Experience with Sitefinity content management system or similar .NET content management system Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Experience with HTML5, CSS3, Javascript/JS Lib (JQuery), Twitter BootStrap 3 - 4 and a solid understanding of how to work inside of a .Net environment with the use of master page layout * Demonstrable understanding of JavaScript and .Net page templates * Knowledge of Google Analytics and ability to pull and analyze reports * Knowledge of UX, UI and IA best practices. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Excellent creative, technical and analytical skills. * Ability to work in a collaborative, innovate, flexible and team-oriented environment. * Ability to effectively communicate design ideas and respond quickly to business needs. * Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting strict deadlines. * High production values and strong quality assurance skills * Aware of current trends and new technologies in information architecture and design. * Knowledge of section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards for the web is preferred. * Ability to work effectively as a member of the marketing team * Ability to work effectively as an individual for quick turnaround of enhancements and fixes.
