Title: Bigdata Engineer Location: Redmond, WA Client: Microsoft (Managed role) *Position Summary:* This position is for a candidate who has fair understanding of Big Data Technologies and Cloud computing world. The position demands that the candidate should be willing to try out new things and should be prompted to respond to any technical challenges. This position requires that the candidate should have good hands on experience with Azure “Analytics” services and testing strategies. Clients are looking for someone who can write test scenarios against HDInsight clusters to test the reliability/scalability of the changes that are rolled out almost with every release. The changes include new features, bug fixes etc. *Job Responsibilities:* Discuss and decide HDInsight testing scenarios along with client and code as per guidelines. Coding would involve Spark – Scala, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Event Hubs etc. Create Granola Builds/pipelines to test, schedule and monitor. Hands on experience on Azkaban to trigger HDInsight Tests. Knowledge and hands on experience with Shell Scripting. Coordinate between Client, Other Vendors and internal teams to keep assigned tasks on track.
