Unfortunately, using the existing formats is a tradeoff: Smaller keys
and messages for increased implementation complexity (at least if
using stock HPKE libraries).

And sometimes not having multiple ways to encode the same information
would require adding more explicit checks, which is not great either.


Which is why I want to see compact NIST curves in HPKE: Even smaller
keys without extra complexity.
