The IESG has approved the following document: - 'COSE Hash Envelope' (draft-ietf-cose-hash-envelope-09.txt) as Proposed Standard
This document is the product of the CBOR Object Signing and Encryption Working Group. The IESG contact persons are Paul Wouters and Deb Cooley. A URL of this Internet-Draft is: https://datatracker.ietf.org/doc/draft-ietf-cose-hash-envelope/ Technical Summary This document defines new COSE header parameters for signaling a payload as an output of a hash function. This mechanism enables faster validation as access to the original payload is not required for signature validation. Additionally, hints of the detached payload's content format and availability are defined providing references to optional discovery mechanisms that can help to find original payload content. Working Group Summary Was there anything in the WG process that is worth noting? For example, was there controversy about particular points or were there decisions where the consensus was particularly rough? Document Quality Related WGs were informed of the WGLC (scim and rats). There are four implementations listed in the Implementations Considerations Section. Personnel The Document Shepherd for this document is Jon Geater. The Responsible Area Director is Paul Wouters. _______________________________________________ COSE mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected]
