Thanks Mark -- this worked as expected. The only difference for me (running 10.6.5 Server) is that the configuration line recommended for "OSX Server" found here: http://webapps.itcs.umich.edu/cosign/index.php/Building_and_Installing_on_Mac_OS_X /configure --enable-apache2=/usr/sbin/apxs --enable-universal-binaries -nable-krb --with-gss Fails: configure: error: Building universal binaries on darwin10.5.0 is not suppo rted So I left "--enable-universal-binaries" out. Otherwise, everything upgraded as expected with no errors in the "error_log" after I restarted web services: [Fri Dec 17 09:32:42 2010] [notice] caught SIGTERM, shutting down [Fri Dec 17 09:32:44 2010] [notice] mod_cosign: version 3.1.2 initialized.
