THANK YOU, Tammy. This is as close as I have reached in
confirming a Skiffington in Donaghmore, who may or may not
be connected with my husband’s great-grandfather Patrick
Skiffington, born 1812-15 about. The spelling Skeffington
is a little different, but not unusual for that time.
Next most important question: Do you have any
suggestions for finding the ‘tree’ of both B (perhaps
Bernard) and John Skeffington. I have information on a
Bernard Skiffington (sp.) who went to Lanark, Scotland with
his wife and a son, and thereafter added to his family, some
of whom, I believe, went to America, but I can find no
connection with Patrick Skiffington, unless this Bernard was
(most likely) related in some way.
