Great information! My great grandfather Robert Gribbin and his brother James were handloom weavers in the Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim area, both born around the 1820s. Presumably mechanisation made a drastic change to their lives so that Robert Gribbin ended up working as a lamplighter when he moved to Glasgow, whilst his brother James stayed in (Northern) Ireland, where he and his sons went to work in the Belfast shipyards.
Time and change. It's better if you enlarge the map to full page by clicking on [ ] top right of the map. My great-great-grandfather was a scutcher so he probably worked in the mill at Listymore.
