Tony,
PRONI in Belfast hold about 300 documentsrelating to the estate in the series
D526 & D674. A lot are leases including many 3 livesleases from the 1700s. (3
lives leases can be helpful as relationships betweenthe leaseholders are
sometimes given). Then there is a load of correspondence.
The documents themselves are not on-line (thatwould be a huge undertaking) but
a summary of each can be found in the PRONIe-catalogue. Search under
“Ecclesville” to get them.
If you see one you are interested in, you caneither pay PRONI to copy it, or
employ a researcher to got to PRONI and do itfor you.

Estate Ploughing Match, February 1858
I was delighted to see Len Swindley’s recent contribution from the Ecclesville
Estate.
Could anyone advise me as to whether or not the Ecclesville Estate papers are
accessible on the internet? My Slavins, McCarneys and Kellys all lived on that
estate and I have been trying in vain to find how to access these papers
without travelling to Ireland.
