Hello Listers,

You may find what Christmas festivities and joy consisted of in the Castlederg,
Co. Tyrone, Workhouse in 1856:

Extracted from the Tyrone Constitution, January 4, 1856

CASTLEDERG WORKHOUSE – On Christmas day, the Rev. Edward Edwards, Incumbent of
the parish of Derg, regaled the poor inmates of the Castlederg Workhouse, with
bread, butter, tea &c.

A very tasty spread!
Regards,
Len Swindley, Melbourne, Australia
