Hello Barrie,

You did not mention how experienced you are with Irish research. I have no
knowledge of Aughnacloy or its’ vicinity and found it necessary to Google it.

Cottage Hill is in Mulnahorn townland (Aghaloo parish) 4-5 kms south-west of
Aughnacloy and can be found at Griffiths Valuation was
undertaken c1860. Click on the Griffiths Places button and follow the prompts
which will take you to the c1860 OS map. A description and valuation of the
properties within Mulnahorn will be interesting. I cannot state that the house
still remains, but the gatehouse appears to have been converted to a hall

Regards and good wishes for you trip to Aughnacloy,

Len Swindley

Dear Mr Swindley

I am about to embark on a trip to Ireland and during a Google search I found
your contact details. I would like to find my Irish Grandfather's old family
home in Aughnacloy, County Tyrone. Sadly all the people in our family who could
help have died and I have scant knowledge of their history, except that one of
them, some time ago, did locate the house called Cottage Hill.

Are you involved in any way with finding things concerning family history?

I live on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland but the McWilliams family emigrated
from Aughnacloy to South Africa. My grandfather was the only child to be born
in SA. His father's name was John McWilliams.
