Hello Rachel, You will be aware that all court records prior to the 1850s were destroyed in the burning of the Public Record Office, Dublin in 1922, hence my attempts to transcribe Tyrone court records from reports in the press; have searched the online Tipperary papers 1833/4, but was unable to locate any coverage of court proceedings for December 30 1833.

And,no,Len, no forebears . :-( Dorothy Sent from my iPad On 30/06/2018, at 10:27 PM, Len Swindley <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> wrote: Thanks for your enquiry Dorothy. For an accurate definition I referred to my copy of The Macquarie Dictionary (Australia’s national dictionary) which describes the legal term as “to liberate or take by force or by illegal means from lawful custody” , so I guess robbery with violence or by deception. I hope you have found a forebear and regards, Len Swindley, Melbourne, Australia Sent from Mail<https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=550986> for Windows 10 ________________________________ From: CoTyroneList <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> on behalf of [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Sent: Saturday, June 30, 2018 7:30:20 PM To: 'CoTyroneIreland.com<http://CoTyroneIreland.com> Mailing List' Subject: Re: [CoTyroneMailingList] CoTyroneIreland.com<http://CoTyroneIreland.com> - New Content - Dungannon Quarter Sessions, held at Dungannon, Co.
