Hello again Bobbie, Why not contact the contributor who posted the information you refer to; it is at odds with records I have sourced from surviving records in Ireland (have researched in London, Dublin and Belfast on six separate occasions and have access to LDS filmed records).
You quote year of emigration of the Thomsons as 2005-6, but perhaps you mean 1805-6? Very few shipping records survive prior to 1900; whatever has survived will be found in the US. Am not sure which map you have been looking at, but there is no townland called Derry in Artrea parish. A map of the parish can be found on CTI http://www.cotyroneireland.com/townlands/images/ArboeArtreaBallyclogBallinderry.pdf Surviving church records for ARTREA parish as recorded on the online website of the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/publications/proni-guide-church-records are as indicated CHURCH OF IRELAND (ANGLICAN) ARTREA, COS LONDONDERRY AND TYRONE C.I. MIC1D/35; T305 Using the above website you can look at the Tempo, Co. Fermanagh records and ascertain if the record you seek has survived . It is unlikely that I can assist you further due to the confusion within the records you quote and an inability to offer a guess at the religious persuasion of the Thomsons (hence the long list quoted above). Are you aware that Enniskillen is the county town of Co. Fermanagh and that Derry was likely the port of exit upon emigration? My information came from [email protected] May 7, 2001. Maybe he found a resource he could share with you. I I am also looking for the ships from 2005 to 2006 from Ireland to USA. His son, John W. Thompson with wife, "E" and 4 children. William b. 1796, Matthew b. 1798, Margaret b. 1800 and John b. 1803 ca. He was 2 years old when they arrived here. William may have been living in Derry, which is adjacent to Enniskillen townland, as seems from the map. I was also given information that John (son of William) with the 4 kids married a woman in Tempo, Fermanagh. Could there be a Marriage record in Tempo for 1794-5 marriage??? Surely would appreciate any help, since I seem to be lost afterall. John told all his children that he was born in Co. Tyrone, Enniskillen townland. Probably about 1770-1776. Are there any birth records? Marriage records from that time? Thank you so much. The only tithe applotment book surviving for Artrea Parish (Cos. Tyrone and Londonderry) is dated 1825. I was referring to the LDS film which contains these records on Wednesday and can confirm that there were no Thompsons recorded in the townland in 1825 - see http://www.cotyroneireland.com/tithe/titheindex.html<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cotyroneireland.com%2Ftithe%2Ftitheindex.html&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ce8d1376cdf4e40a509f908d614572e54%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636718761998560349&sdata=AlysP5ifO%2FMRJz%2BqLyFpTvp6hv8lat2W062jMdg47xo%3D&reserved=0> for a description of these important records. However, there was a Wm. Thompson recorded as a tithe payer in Mowillian (Mawillian) townland in the Co. Londonderry portion of the parish. I am unfamiliar with the records you quote, preferring to go to the original source. So next looked at Griffiths Valuation c1860 (records heads of households) http://www.askaboutireland.ie/griffith-valuation/<https://nam01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.askaboutireland.ie%2Fgriffith-valuation%2F&data=02%7C01%7C%7Ce8d1376cdf4e40a509f908d614572e54%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C636718761998716589&sdata=lWQY6R8Cpi4nCOps76n1QIT90FhpBCIaBrYn8RhvNP0%3D&reserved=0> and was unable to locate any Thompsons residing in either townland, however Thompsons are recorded in other townlands in the parish.
