If I understand correctly the baptism records are missing or not recorded or something for 1842 when Sarah‘s brother Joseph was estimated to be born. That is the only other sibling that I am sure of. Or would he have been baptized elsewhere in that timeframe? I have looked for Patrick’s marriage in Donaghenry for the 10 years preceding Sarah’s birth. Unless he was married somewhere else. I looked for the death of possible wife for Patrick and I did find the death of a Catherine Duffin in Kilsally in 1878 but all it says is wife of a farmer, married, age 70, with a Catherine Duffin present at death which I wondered if it could be a daughter but how could one know if this is Patrick’s wife. The time and place and surname and age are possible to be Patrick’s wife but we don’t even know if his wife was named Catherine. I also looked for this witness Catherine Duffin on the 1901 census but she could’ve died or moved or married if this was a daughter. I did find the death of a Catherine Duffin in Kilsally in 1883 who was a spinster, age 29, farmer’s daughter with brother Joseph present at death so this could be the possible daughter Catherine Duffin. So born about 1854. Are there records of baptisms for 1853-1855? I have the will of Patrick Duffin and he died December 1876 and he leaves everything to his son Joseph and the will was not probated at that time. Joseph died in 1902 and Patrick‘s affairs were finally attended to in 1942 by Joseph’s widow Alice. Patrick’s daughter Sarah Quinn had died in 1916. Reviewing all this once again I am thinking Patrick’s wife probably was Catherine and he did have a daughter Catherine. If I could find Catherine‘s birth about 1854 perhaps it would have her mothers name. Peggy

It will be necessary to browse the register further in the hope that further siblings of Sarah can be found where her mother’s name is recorded. Have you searched the marriage register for Patrick’s marriage? Good luck, Len Swindley, Melbourne, Australia Sent from Mail for Windows 10 From: Peggy Gordon Sent: Sunday, 7 April 2019 3:42 PM To: Len Swindley; CoTyroneIreland. com Mailing List Subject: Re: [CoTyroneMailingList] Sarah Duffin, 1839 When I find what I suspect is the correct baptism, I see the father as Patrick Duffin but the mother’s name is almost totally faded out and is unreadable. Witnesses appear to be Patrick Mulvany and Maria Muldoon of Kilsally. Would there be a better copy anywhere or do you have any suggestions about what I could do? It is important to me to find out her mothers name. Thanks for any help. Sarah married William Quinn Jul 3, 1889 in the Roman Catholic Chapel, Stewartstown, Union of Cookstown. Does anyone have any information on Sarah or her family? Sarah died May 18, 1916 in Kilsally as per irishgenealogy.ie. Thanks for any help Peggy
