Hello,I am researching the Duffin family of Kilsally and I have the children of
James Duffin and Mary Caulfield who were married in 1822 in  Coalisland.I
believe that James had a sister Margaret Jane Duffin who married a Mr.
Harper/Happer whose first name I believe to be James B. Harper, abt 1817. From
findagrave and other places, I have the dates of birth of their children in Co.
Tyrone and one of them says he was from Drumads, could be Drumards.Their
religion was Roman Catholic and I am not sure where to look.I have Samuel
Harper born or baptised Sept 30, 1818. George Harper born Feb 16, 1821 from
Drumads, James Brown Harper born May 24, 1824. Barbara Harper Nov 4, 1830.
Elizabeth Sarah may 2, 1837. There were 2 more females and one more brother as
per records. I believe that James Sr (if that was his name) died 1843-1845 and
Margaret Jane emigrated with the children in 1846. They appear to have gone to
Cambridge, New york at first but spread out to Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota.
Margaret Jane died in Minnesota in 1885 at her son-in-law's Joseph Edmiston who
was also from Co. Tyrone and his mother was Eleanor who also emigrated. It is
believed that Joseph's father was Andrew who died in Ireland as Joseph's obit
says that his mother and sister Eliza followed him to Minnesota. Sister Eliza
married william Caulfield abot 1857, likely Illinois, as that is where their
children were born. Thanks for any helpPeggy
