Hello Sharyn,

Have you ascertained that it was your forebear (JAMES LYON) who died at Port
Clinton in May, 1861? Did he marry and give the name GEORGE to a son? There is
some useful data relating to the Lyons of Strabane (Camus and Leckpatrick
parishes) on the website connected to this mailing list CTI
https://www.cotyroneireland.com/ and I wonder if you have undertaken a
preliminary investigation.

The following announcement is takes from the Londonderry Sentinel June 28 1861

Subject: [CoTyroneMailingList] Lyon family of Strabane

Good day,
I am hoping someone will be able to help me gather information on the Lyon
family of Strabane or surrounding areas.

I found an article in the Belfast News-letter, dated Wednesday morning, July 3,
1861, it reads: Lyon- May 24, at Port Clinton, PA, aged 49 years, Mr. James
Lyon. merchant, son of the late John Lyon of Strabane.

I have reason to believe these men are my 3rd and 4th great grandfathers and
would love to know more about my Irish heritage.

If more information is needed please let me know and I will submit.

Thank you,
Sharyn Davis
