Great idea Jim!!!

I'll try to condense this! I was adopted as an infant in 1958. Growing
up, I always held a great interest in genealogy, and worked on my adopted
family tree.

By a wonderful twist of events, I was reunited with my biological family in
my mid-thirties. My parents had actually gotten married some time after
my adoption, and had 3 more kids - my siblings.

My family gave me two full chapters of an extensive family tree, which led
me to William and Sarah Adam's of Omagh, County Tyrone. They had left
Omagh in late 1823 or early 1824, and set sail from Londonderry for
Canada. Sadly both William and Sarah died and were buried at sea, however
their 6 children completed the voyage and settled in prince Edward County,
Ontario, Canada.

Forward 30 years, I am now 60. Just last month my husband and I toured
Ireland and were able to visit Omagh and some of the surrounding area. To
walk in the town of my ancestors, and also the waterfront of Derry where
they sailed away from was an emotional experience that has left a star upon
my heart.

>From having adopted roots, to walking along the pathways of my true
forebears has been nothing less than a dream come true.

As my biological parents have told me, they weren't able to give me the
life they wanted for me back then, but now they have been able to give me
my roots.

I have now travelled full circle. I continue to search for more details of
the Adams family line from Omagh. If anyone can add more details, I will
be forever grateful, so that when I return to Omagh I may continue this
marvelous family adventure !!!
