Hi everyone -- as I've previously mentioned, I am on a hunt for the ancestors of my Richard Crozier (b. 1810 Tyrone, d. 1861 Erin, Ontario, Canada). Although I've been hunting for years, and together with my cousin Cathy Boomer, we've built a huge database of Croziers, on Ancestry.ca -- we still cannot find 'my' people.
As an added 'curiosity', we know that Cathy and I are also related to the Anthony family -- they appear to have been friends of the Croziers in Ireland (both members of the Masons) as well as in Wellington and Dufferin Counties in Ontario, Canada after about 1835. We haven't been able to find that genetic link either! I do have access to my brother's Y-DNA though, so I now know that my siblings and I are one step removed from William Crozier b.1805-1809 Tyrone, d. 1881 Steuben NY . We are 2 steps removed from John Crozier, b. 1810, married Margaret Fyfe; John b. and died Fermanagh, Margaret b. Fermanagh, died and is buried in Connecticut -- some of their children went to the U.S., others to Australia. Also 2 steps distant from John Crozier, b. 1808 d. 1855 in Ceylon, where he had married Xaviniania Bastianisz -- their descendants immigrated to Australia. I am going to Ireland, staying in Fermanagh for 2 months, in Northern Ireland for a total of 3 months -- and I do hope to make some headway! Absolutely open to suggestions, connections, anything you wish to contribute. I will go to PRONI, the Ulster Historical Fdtn., the Mellon Centre for Migration, some family history centres, and personal connections made in a variety of ways already. Wish me luck!!
