Hello Heather,

Thanks for your message.

Re. records for Bodoney Parish Church (St Patrick’s Church of Ireland, Gortin),
the staff of PRONI, Belfast have filmed the earliest surviving records:
Baptisms, 1812-75
marriages, 1817-45
burials, 1820-73
Film no. MIC583/7

Baptisms performed in Greenan Church are recorded in the registers of St.
Patrick’s, Gortin.

I do not have access to this film as I reside way down here in Melbourne. It
would be necessary for you to travel to Belfast or hire a private researcher to
trawl them in search of your forebears. The uploaded cards are the best that
Jim McKane can offer for St. Patrick’s records other than my file of Gortin
civil registration marriages Bodoney Lower Parish Church (St. Patrick's Church
of Ireland), Gortin, Co. Tyrone Marriages 1845-70
(cotyroneireland.com)<https://www.cotyroneireland.com/churchrecord/badoneylower.html>.
The project to transcribe the early registers by a local volunteer community
group seems not to have eventuated and a thorough Google search fails to locate
any reference to this project and any outcome. I will suggest to Jim that he
remove the comment pertaining to any forthcoming transcription of the registers.

Trust that this clarifies the situation; unfortunately, it is just not possible
to offer free access transcriptions of all church registers.

All good wishes,

Len Swindley, Melbourne, Australia

Bodoney Lower Parish, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland Marriages 1879-1921

Hi List/Len,
A lot of the names in this post feature in my family but my direct ancestors
are one or two generations earlier. Can anyone tell me how to access earlier
records?
Also, The pages for St Patrick's Church of Ireland at Gortin say "Later this
year, we will be adding a copy of the complete register. " Are original records
available somewhere? Is this an ongoing project? Can I assist with
transcription of this or any other project?
Regards,
Heather
