Glad the site / link was useful... while I enjoy the hand-drawn maps we have on CoTyrone, I also found it really helpful to be able to use the GPS coordinates that townlands.ie is able to offer.

I feel as though the "sense of place" is key to understanding our Irish ancestry... Elwyn has shared how courting used to happen on foot and by horseback, before the bicycle... that has really stuck with me as I think about who might / might not be connected with each other. I usually have Google Maps up while doing research, as the distance can often tell me "yes, probably" or "no, not likely"
