Hi Boyd and other researchers,
According to my husband’s aunt’s research:

John Coulter was born in County Tyrone, about 1760, married ? Culbertson, whose
father was a minister from Scotland. They were my husband’s 4th great
grandparents.
They had 4 children that we know of:

William - remained in Ireland. His children were all born in County Tyrone
(Cooel?) and married others with surnames of Coulter, Wilson, Burris, Speer, de
Lamme and Mitchell. Some remained in Ireland, others moved to Australia or the
United States.
James - went to Quebec
Thomas - went to Ohio (This was my husband’s ancestor)
John - went to America - unknown place.

I have some correspondence between the American Coulters and their Irish
cousins, but is seems that contact was mostly lost in the 1970’s. The aunt’s
research also included a photo of a home in Drumquin (possibly).
Hopefully this will be of interest to other researchers. I have plenty of info
on the American portion of the family, but not so much on their Irish cousins….
Cheers,
Barb Coulter
