Inquiring if any other listers have info on any of the three families, Francis Little, William and John Dudgeon, and an unknown Kelso who lived in or near Co. Tyrone in the mid to late 1700’s.
Francis Little was my 4th great-grandfather, b. abt. 1760, probably Co. Tyrone; m. abt. 1784 to Jeanette “Jane” Dudgeon, b. abt. 1762; three children born in Ulster, probably Co. Tyrone – Isabella Little, b. 1785; Nancy Agness Little, b. 1786; William Little, b. 1790; family emigrated to Pennsylvania, USA in 1792. Jeanette’s father was William Dudgeon, b. abt. 1735; m. possibly in Co. Tyrone about 1760 to “Bell” Kelso, b. abt 1735. Family history suggests that Francis Little worked for some time in a linen mill near Dublin(?), owned or operated by John Dudgeon, Jeanette’s uncle. (seems far from home, but what’s stated in old family story). These families were all most likely Presbyterians, as that’s the faith group the Little family settled in with in Western Pennsylvania in 1792. It seems records of that time period are fairly sparse. I’ve searched most of the available on-line databases and found a few possible leads but nothing definitive. (PRONI, church records, Ultster Historical Foundation, etc) Any leads or suggestions appreciated!
