I've just uploaded to CPAN some code for writing your CouchDB views in Perl instead of in Javascript, in case anyone's interested.
It will appear at http://search.cpan.org/~hdp/CouchDB-View-0.001/ sometime in the next day. Its own tests pass with some reference data, and I've played with it a little under a live server, but I haven't done anything non-trivial with it, so feedback would be welcome (well, even more so than usual). hdp.
