Coupers; I found that with careful planning, and purchasing new style
gyros that were less than 7 inches long including the fittings, I was able
to
modify the Alon style panel from Skyport into the "T" configuration. I did
not use the Alon insert. I put the Turn and Bank in the lower left corner
so
it was outside the fuselage tank footprint. Therefore, the forward view
was
not obstructed. Fellow Coupers who have seen N99387 at the Nationals,
Arkansas Picnic, or Athens, TN may remember the new panel.
I told the FAA Inspector that the panel came as a kit, which was mostly
true,
and after he looked it over he approved it.
