If I'm not mistaken, Maynard has a 1946 415D which has been
converted
from a 415C since his serial number is lower than my 415C.
Am I wrong, or did it not leave the factory with a 'cork-n-wire'
fuel
level indicator in all three tanks? If this is correct, I wonder if it
was ever 'legally' converted from that to what he now has and is having
the problem with.
Why not just obtain the old reliable 'cork-n-wire' and solve the
problem.
Maybe I'm way out in left field, but I'm having fun out here. :-)
Besides, all changes from original are not necessary better.
Personally, I like my "old fashioned" corks with those cute little bent
wires sticking up out of the caps. (And they are legal and easy to
read.)
