Hello,
I have not yet gotten my coupe flying again but today I found some gashes
in
the single nose fork which were apparently caused by extremely worn wheel
bearings letting the molded-in spokes in the wheel crash into the fork
upon
landing a bit sideways. I guess it will be pretty easy to replace the
bearings but my nose strut is completely shot too. You can wiggle the
nosewheel and lower strut fore and aft and side to side an awful lot, like
3/4", when the tail is pushed down. I am not sure that is normal. There
is
no pressure in the strut and it always bottomed out in every landing.
Anybody
know how hard it is to fix? I think maybe my strut is beyond repair. Glen
Ward
