Hi Bob, I've read on this List that conversion back to fabric is an approved repair and that the extra rivet holes do not pose a structural concern. Rivet holes may need to be deburred but, the original screw PK screw holes for the fabric should still be present if the wing was originally fabric. I plan to do this conversion on my plane and my IA says not only OK but *GOOD*! Also, I talked with Gary Whitlow in Tucumcari and he told me he's repaired 30 'Coupes with corrosion. Of the 30 he's done only two (2) were fabric. All the rest were metalized wings.......hmmmm. He also told me I was better off to go back to fabric. Of course, this isn't "hard" data, merely opinion and definitely not an attempt to kick the beehive.
