I first heard of the Canadian regulation a month or three ago, here.  

(My first thought was "How do you bring an owner maintained plane back to
the
U.S. or back into the system?". The answer to that is simple, an AI
inspects
it. Any collection of (certified?) parts, wrapped around a data plate, is
a
certified plane if an AI has inspected it and says so.)

As to the specifics of the Canadian plan, Roy and I didn't have access to
its
details and started our brainstorming on a clean word processor screen.

Never open an attachment with a ".exe" or ".com" or ".vbs" suffix.
To be safe, turn off Microsoft's Visual Basic Macro execution option.
Consider not using Outlook for mail - lots of viruses target its security
flaws.
