 Alan, Ha, ha, ha. Where did you hear that? First speed is limited by your
never exceed of 144 mph. So if your pulling an honest 105 {126 Alon} or so
you only have 39 {18} mph to play with.
 A cruise prop., light weight, clean waxed and totally in rig airplane. Is
the best you can hope for.
 A lot of guy play with home made gap seal, crank up main gear, and things
like that. I've seen a fellow in Colorado put the silver aluminum heat
duct
tape all over his Forney (look like sh**) May have got 1 or 2 mph out of
that.
 There is no big market for the costly STC speed mods here.
  If you want to spend money on speed mods, other that the bubble
windshield
and that is questionable as to how much you would get. Take that money and
spend it on having fun and go fly and enjoy your Ercoupe.
  Remember the only two thing wrong with an Ercoupe are it's limited
speed,
and limited load. Other than that Fred designed a fun airplane.
