Syd Cohen     Jones Family wrote: ----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.h tm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Coupers,I have found a coupe that needs some TLC (wing spar corrosion).  I'm not sure what a good price would be so here are some of the details maybe someone could get me in the ball park with what might be a fair price. Year - 1946 (C Model) / Acft Serial # 1410 /  Engine - C75  W/465 hr SMOH / Bubble windshield / No pedals / Metal Prop / Gyro panel / Val 720 com / Metal wings / incomplete logs / Missing 337s. I went to look at this airplane with the thought of buying it, the guy was asking $12,500.  He happened to have the Rt wing fuel tank out so I took a good look up the leading edge of the spar and found a lot of white powder so I knew it had some corrosion.  Then I looked at the top cap near the wing attach fitting and there it was.  I have never seen corrosion like this before, the top cap was completely rotted through, in fact it looked just like a piece of rotten wood.  The owner didn't know it was like that and you should have seen his face when I pointed it out to him.  I haven't seen the left wing but I wouldn't be surprised if it looks the same, and I don't know the condition of the center wing except that I didn't see anything alarming on the Rt side.
