Hi Ken; The nose strut wears the bronze bushing at the bottom of the outer cylinder. There are 4 small screws that hold the bushing in place. However, you will have to disassemble the strut to check it. You have to remove the entire assemble from the Coupe in order to take it apart. Once you drain the hydraulic fluid out, there are 4 screws around the top of the strut that have to be removed. Then remove the 4 small screws holding the bottom bushing in place, and the two bolts holding the steering sleeve together, then push the entire inner cylinder out the bottom. There is a rubber bumper inside at the top, and this often hangs up part way down. You can use a long piece of dowel (broom stick) to drive it out. Lee at Skyport has the parts, and will send you instructions if you ask. 800-624-5312 If your Coupe has lots of time (read as landings) you may find that the inner cylinder has worn in the area where it makes contact with the bronze bushing. I do not remember the limits, but it is only a few thousands of an inch. It is also possible to rotate the bronze bushing 90 degrees, which will reduce the play in the fore and aft direction. The wear only occurs in the fore and aft direction due to the loads there.
