As the one who first started this thread I have to admit I'm impressed by the various opinions and the passion they sometimes engender, but to be honest I'm no wiser. I queried the elevator cable tension called out in the rigging section of the manual, specifically 160 - 190 lbs. This refers to the tension setting of each of the cables. Changing one will change the other it's true, but it will also screw up the rigging. Nowhere are pulley, bearing or turnbuckle loads mentioned, these being the domain of the designer. The rigging parameter is cable tension and nothing else. So, coming back to the original point, it seemed somewhat high to me but we have gone ahead and rigged at the lower end of the allowable scale, specifically at 160 lbs. This is what Fred Weick wanted and that's what he got (at least from us). As to it being a misprint, I doubt that very much. C-310 flap cables are somewhat over 300 lbs, so it's not always a small number. Still, makes for interesting reading.......
