The Venturi is the absolute worst place you can hook a VSI to. The vacuum created will indicate what you are seeing, a drop in pressure tricking it into thinking you are climbing fast. Even in a worse case scenario, not hooking it to anything would make it more accurate than hooking it to a vacuum line. I'll have to check my coupe tomorrow to see where its hooked up on mine.
