Warren. Excellent Points you make here. My FBO start whining every time he sees me carrying canisters. I tell him to get 80 Avgas and all would be fine. He refuses and tells me 100LL is the right stuff. I tell him my plane is designed to use 80. 100LL is having 8 times more lead than 80 which itself has already twice as much lead than Premium Auto gas used to have (years ago). I hesitate to pump the little conti and the environment (as if someone really cares) full with lead if I actually would not have to. Also the red stuff shows me fuel leaks much better. However. Running around the airplane with canisters is a messy business. I agree. I wish I had more choices. But this discussion will not go on for long because here in the bayarea the price for a gallon Auto Gas has skipped the $2 mark a while ago. And with a saving of 35 cents per Gallon who would do all the hassle. If I only had 80 Avgas on my Airport........ Hartmut MarWarHamp wrote: > Well what the hell here my two cent worth.
