Hi Warren,

Thank you for your email.  I was not able to get the picture to open.  Could you try again.  Bill passed away March 13.  He would have loved to see the work you did.  I am so glad that it went to you.

Miriam

Here are the first of pictures of Alon N5624F. The pictures are from a cheap camera with no filter or zoom. So the white washes out some details. As you see below the date. Jan. 14, 01. Dr Charlie Eck and I picked it up in Byron Ca. And that is a story in it’s self. William Bell had started the project some years ago. And did a good job to the point where I am taking it up.

She has been down on her nose before. So we are doing some repairs that could have been done better at the time it was put back together then. A few stiffeners behind the lower firewall were bowed causing some dents to remain. Just removing the stiffeners pop the dents out.

As I stated before I am going with the 30 gallon fuel tanks. With the header tank out. We are replacing the Stainless Steel upper skin with a new skin without the filler hole. Also found corrosion in one of the stringer behind up upper left motor mount.

The top tail cone skin was replace because of denting. Inside washed, acid cleaned and primed with epoxy primer. It went back to the shop today to finish the cabin area. All the controls have been removed again. And will be repainted.

All the window frames are off some to be buffed out and some painting.

Counted the hours to date just over 80. Cleaning of even surface corrosion is slow.

The horizontal is apart and needs to be reskined. (bird nets from being in the barn.)

The story of picking her up is simply. I screwed up and got the truck and trailer out in the mud. One of the Bells friends had to bring the tractor over and pull me free. The mud is what you see all over the Alon. Picture taken in front of my in-laws house in San Jose.
